Episode 10 - Conversations with Paul Linden
Monday Jun 29, 2020
Monday Jun 29, 2020
Today we have a very informative and entertaining talk with Paul Linden.
Paul Linden is the Chief Instructor and co-founder at the Columbus Center for Movement Studies/Aikido of Columbus in Columbus, Ohio, USA. He is a specialist in body and movement awareness education, and his work focuses on the interplay between self-exploration and effective action.
Paul received his B.A. in Philosophy from Reed College and his Ph.D. in Physical Education from the Ohio State University. He is an instructor of the Feldenkrais Method® of body awareness education.
He began Aikido practice in 1969, and he currently holds a sixth degree black belt in Aikido as well a first degree black belt in Karate. He is the developer of Being In Movement® mindbody training, the inventor of SpineLine® Bicycle Handlebars (patent #5,024,119), and the author of a number of books about applications of body awareness training in various areas of life. For fun, Paul rides his bike, runs, practices Aikido, reads, practices organic gardening, and writes.
This talk was extremely fun for both Nikki and I as we got to be led in different experiences as well as having some of our thoughts and believes tested by a true teacher. I am personally very excited to continue to learn more from Paul.

Episode 9 - Conversations with Heather Starsong
Monday Jun 22, 2020
Monday Jun 22, 2020
We are fortunate to have Heather Starsong with us for today's conversation. Heather is an inspiration for many and just a true force of nature. An original student of what was then known as Rolf-Aston Structural Patterning and later evolving into Rolf Movement, and a pioneer of this movement paradigm.
Heather Starsong grew up in New England and graduated summa cum laude from Boston University in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature.
She has been a dancer since childhood, especially fascinated with the connections between healing, art, and spirit. She has explored and taught many forms: creative dance, liturgical dance, dance therapy, yoga, ceremonial dance, Rolfing® and Rolf Movement®, Continuum, and most recently Argentine Tango.
Although her career has been focused on body language, she has loved and told stories all her life. In 2007 she began to write her stories. Leaves in Her Hair was published in 2009, Never Again in 2015, The Purest Gold in 2017, and Song of Eliria in 2019.
She is presently semi-retired from a long career of teaching dance and yoga and practicing Rolfing. She lives in Boulder, Colorado, and enjoys writing, dancing, hiking in the high country, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Heather is a storyteller by nature, whether in the novels she writes or in how she tells the story of her client's bodies by working with them and unwrapping the layers of lived history within.
We are so grateful for our time with her today, and for what she shared with us. We are sire you will enjoy as well!
Find out more about Heather here https://heatherstarsong.com and if in the Boulder Area, we greatly recommend you contact her for a session.

Episode 7 - Conversations with Dario Di Lorenzo
Monday Jun 08, 2020
Monday Jun 08, 2020
Today’s conversation is with Rolf Structural Integration Certified Advanced Practitioner Dario Di Lorenzo. Dario completed his Advanced Training with Emmett Huthchins and Neal Powers in 2014 and is also now part of the European Guild for Structural Integration (EGSI).
Our talk spread across different topics, how Dario was brought to bodywork, what is the EGSI, a celebration of Dr Rolf’s 125th birthday next year in Europe, Ida Rolf as a project manager and more…
“Passionate explorer of human potential, an extreme believer in the holistic approach and in the ability of the body to change. During my journey in life, I have found Structural Integration in 1996 understanding immediately how powerful, transformative this approach is. Structural Integration corresponds very deeply to my own nature and so it was easy for me to desire to become a practitioner so since then I have organized my life around the aim of becoming a practitioner gathering all the prerequisite and collateral competencies that now are in my toolbox.
I practice Rolf – Structural Integration in my own Studio in Milan since 2011. I also practice Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork treatments especially on surgical scars. Sharon’s an Ida Rolf student and has developed this gentle, painless and effective method to integrate scars into the fascial web. I assist Sharon in her classes in Europe. Till March 2017, I’ve successfully worked as a director in an international software company managing international projects for retail fashion brands.”
Talking with Dario is incredibly easy, possibly because of his kind and and loving heart, or maybe it’s the accent. We really enjoyed our conversation with him so much that we actually spoke for nearly two hours (edited down for your listening pleasure.)
You can find more about Dario at https://www.rolfmi.it/ And more information about the EGSI at https://rolfguild.eu/.
We are looking forward to more communications and collaborations with Dario in the future to come.
